Wonderland Jalandhar : Punjab’s Pool Paradise

by Manuel Joseph

The amusement and water park is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab. The park offers a confluence of a waterpark, rides, shopping centre, entertainment, dining hall, etc. It spans across an area of 11 acres and thrills visitors with its aqua dance floor (which also plays local music) and wave pool. Its shopping centre is great for purchasing toys for children and Wonderland Jalandhar souvenirs for adults.

Climate of Jalandhar

The region experiences humid subtropical climate and has cool winters and long hot summers. Winters span from November to February while Summers from April to June with the weather usually remaining dry throughout most of the year with the exception of the South-West monsoon which occurs during July and August. The monsoon offers heavy rainfalls in the state.

When to visit

The best time to visit Wonderland would be during summers which last from April to June as it is the perfect way to counter the hot weather and beat the heat. However, it can be visited at other times during the year as well. If visiting during winter it’s best to visit at around noon and afternoon when temperatures aren’t too cool so as to avoid getting sick. A time to avoid the theme park would be during the monsoon season months which are July and August as there are rainfalls then.

Park Facilities

Dry Park

The park offers a fun and relaxed experience for everyone. It has lots of rides (that are mostly on land) and other fun stuff to do. It’s great material for some Wonderland Jalandhar photos.

  • Wonder Splash: Visitors can experience the exhilaration of a water slide and have a big splash while they’re at it.
  • Vortex: The ride promises to make your eyes roll with its cylindrical structure designed to spin with a path in the middle.
  • Swing Chairs: It consists of chairs connected to a rotating pillar that swing and is designed to create flying-like sensations.
  • Paratrooper: It has a glider style roof with chairs attached to it designed to mimic a paragliding experience. It is also referred to by some as the umbrella ride or parachute ride.
  • Jurassic Coaster: The ride has twists and turns similar to a roller coaster experience (on a smaller scale though).
  • Horror House: Not for the faint hearted this place is designed to scare and spook you out.

  • Carousal: The structure is built to rotate and contains ponies to ride on for children and tiny structures in between for adults.
  • Break Dance: It is considered a joy ride for families which contains chairs that are built in slightly eccentric directions and rotate from the bottom.
  • Boat Ride: Wonderland has an in-built lake available for boating expeditions.

              Other Rides

There are also the Ferris Wheel and Bumper Cars that are sure to get the adrenaline pumping, mini-train like experiences that include Rambo Train, Humpty Dumpty and the Hill Queen and The Play House which are great options for younger children.

              Water Park

The Water Park includes water rides and water sports as well. It provides great value for money on Wonderland Jalandhar tickets

              • Wonder Fall: The design mimics waterfalls with water trickling down from a steep rocky terrain and has a pool underneath.
              • Monkey’s Bucket: The Monkey’s Bucket consists of water flowing from the top of a square. People standing underneath jump and splash water at each other.
              • Bay Side: It has been built for people to enjoy the sun, relax, dance, etc.
              • Activity Pool: The pool has intersecting slides with twists and curves, water balls for playing around with and in-built structures inside the pool.

                    Other Rides

Some more appealing rides include Wave Pool, Skide’s Landing Pool, Kid’s Slide, the Giant and Speed Slide, etc.

After tourists are done with the rides they can enjoy other types of activities at the park or nearby.

                    • Shopping: The shopping centre provides memorabilia and toys that act as souvenirs that remind visitors of their amazing experience.
                    • Selfie Center: The place is sparkling with laser lights making it an ideal location for photos at night.
                    • Indoor Aqua Dance: This disco takes it to a new level when it comes to partying with water sprinkling from the walls all over the dance floor combined with music and dance.
                    • Discotheque: It’s an in-built disco where local hits are played and people groove to the music.

All those rides and partying are bound to make tourists hungry. Hence, there are multiple eateries as well around that serve both local cuisine as well as other food items. Water Park Food court, Open Air Restaurant, Indoor Restaurant, and The Banquet Hall are all great options for a post- swim meal.

Wonderland Jalandhar is a great place to visit alone, with family, friends and even for couples as well. It’s a great place to have fun and disconnect from all the stresses of life. Dry Park is a great option as many water themed parks don’t have options for those that want to avoid the water.
