• Unaccompanied minors are not allowed in connecting flights, international flights, or domestic flights that include a layover or change of aircraft.

Spirit Airlines has introduced some services for unaccompanied minor passengers that improve safety, comfort, and keep them entertained. Apart from this service, the additional services provided by the airline are as follows:

• Unaccompanied minors are entitled to advance boarding, which allows them to familiarize with the flight attendants, and the plane’s safety features.
• An authorized personnel at the airport will escort the child to the authorized adult who comes to pick up the child at the final airport.

The following guidelines for Spirit Airlines unaccompanied minors must be followed if your minor child is traveling with Spirit Airlines unaccompanied.

• While making the reservation, the adult must inform the airline that the reservation is for an unaccompanied minor.
• You must check-in at the airport counter at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
• At check-in, Spirit Airlines airport counter staff will give you a Unaccompanied Minor form, which needs to be completed by the dropping off parent / guardian. They must provide government-issued photo identification.
• The form will be inserted into the lanyard provided by the airline, which the minor must wear throughout the flight.
• The airport counter staff will provide the adult dropping off the child with a gate pass, which allows them to escort the child to the gate and remain in the area 15 minutes more after the flight takes off.
• The unaccompanied child must be pre-boarded. However, if the child arrives late to board the flight, then the minor will be boarded last to ensure the introduction to flight attendants.
• The pick-up parent / guardian mentioned in the form must arrive at the airport early to get a Gate Pass, so that they can be at the gate when the minor arrives. The child will be escorted by a flight attendant and hand over to the pick-up parent / guardian mentioned in the form.

Age Restrictions

4 years and younger	4 years and younger children are not allowed to travel alone. They must be accompanied by someone at least 15 years of age.
5-14 years	Children 5-14 years old must travel as Unaccompanied Minor if they are traveling alone.
15 years and older	Children 15 years or under 18 years of age do not have to travel as Unaccompanied minors. However, parents can ask for the service. The Unaccompanied Minor charge will be applicable for 15 and older if the service is requested.

How to Book

You can easily book a reservation for a child who is traveling unaccompanied. However, you must inform the airline that the reservation is for an unaccompanied minor. While booking the flight for the unaccompanied minor, the airline will ask the adult to submit the following information:

• Name of the adult as per the government-issued ID.
• Address as per the government-issued ID.
