LOT Polish Airlines operates from its hub in Warsaw at Warsaw Chopin Airport. The  airline also operates long-haul flights from its other base in Budapest, Hungary to North America or Asia. 

LOT Polish Baggage Guidelines 

LOT Airlines baggage allowance offers ample and lenient baggage allowance to customers irrespective of service of class purchased. Every class does have a certain baggage allowance and the customers must ensure to follow it to avoid paying additional baggage allowance at the airport. 

Regardless of the travel class or the fare purchased, passengers can always take one carry-on baggage to 8 kg dimensions not exceeding 55 x 40 x 23 cm (height x width x depth) and total sum of dimension should not exceed 118 cm. 

• All passengers are entitled to carry a personal item up to 2 kg which includes handbag, briefcase, or laptop bag. 
• According to the Polish Airlines Baggage policy, you can bring three types of baggage including checked , carry-on and extra bags. 
• If you have connecting flights in your itinerary then you may have to check-in your baggage again at the connecting airport. 
• If a passenger exceeds the baggage limit then certain extra baggage charges are applicable depending on destinations.

• The dimension of the carry-on baggage must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm and a total dimension of 118 cm. 
• Those carry-on baggage that exceeds the baggage criteria will be considered as checked baggage allowance. 
• Those passengers who are travelling with children can also carry a collapsible pram or stroller and baby food. 
• For specially-abled persons, the airline allows a wheelchair, crutches or other medical equipment for personal use.

Checked Baggage Allowance 

 LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy may vary depending up on class of services and destinations. The airline advises passengers to follow the checked baggage rules to avoid paying overweight or oversized charges at the airport. 

For flights within Poland 

• LOT Business class passengers are not eligible to carry any checked baggage allowance on board. However, they can purchase checked baggage if required. 
• Passengers travelling in LOT Premium economy also cannot carry checked baggage allowance on board. 
• Those who are travelling in Economy class can carry 1 piece of baggage weighing not more than 23 kg. 

Short-Haul flights to Europe, Middle East 

• Passengers travelling in Business Class can carry two pieces of baggage weighing 32 kg. 
• As per Polish Airlines baggage allowance, passengers of premium economy can not carry checked baggage allowance. 
• Economy class passengers can carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg. 

Mid-Haul flights to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan

• Business class passengers are not entitled to carry any checked baggage on these routes. 
• Premium economy passengers can carry 2 pieces of baggage weighing not more than 23 kg on board as per LOT Polish baggage allowance. 
• Economy class passengers can carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg.

LOT Polish Long Haul Flights Baggage Allowance 

On long-haul flights, the baggage allowance may differ due to the distance from the departure and destination airport. As per LOT Air baggage allowance, passengers are entitled to carry one personal baggage irrespective of cabin classes. 

Carry-on baggage allowance

Flights to/from China, India, Japan, Canada and South Korea 

• Passengers travelling in Business class can carry 2 pieces of baggage weighing not more than 9 kg. 
• In Premium economy, passengers can either have 2 pieces of baggage with a combined weight of 12 kg or 1 piece of baggage with 8 kg. 
• Economy class passengers can carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg.

Flights to/ from USA 

• Business class passengers are entitled to carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 12 kg. 
• As per LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy, Premium Economy class passengers are entitled to carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg.
• Economy class passengers can carry 1 piece of baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg.

Checked baggage allowance 

Flights from Europe, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Israel, Lebanon, UAE to Canada, the USA 

• Passengers travelling on LOT Polish Business class can carry 3 checked baggage weighing not more than 32 kg. 
• Passengers of Premium Economy can carry 2 pieces of checked baggage weighing 23 kg. 
• The LOT Polish Economy class has multiple fare variations thus, passengers should check the baggage beforehand. 

Flights from Canada and the USA 

• As per LOT Air polish baggage policy, passengers travelling on LOT Polish Business class can carry 3 checked baggage weighing not more than 32 kg. 
• Passengers of Premium Economy can carry 2 pieces of checked baggage weighing 23 kg. 
• The LOT Polish Economy class has multiple fare variations thus, passengers should check the baggage beforehand. Full Flex and Flex fare are entitled for 1 checked baggage weighing not more than 23 kg. 

LOT Polish Airlines Children Allowance 

The airline has certain different baggage allowance for children. LOT Polish does allow passengers with infants to carry strollers, car seats or bassinets on board. However, there are certain guidelines that parents must follow.  

Children Below 2 years 

In the LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy Economy Saver fare, passengers travelling with infants are entitled to carry one carry-on baggage up to 8 kg (dimensions of 50 x 40 x 23 cm) 

• Along with the carry–on baggage, a personal item e.g. a small backpack, briefcase, a handbag or pouch. 
• Also, an extra bag is allowed containing baby food and necessary baby stuff.
• As part of free baggage, passengers can also carry a foldable stroller or a car seat on board for children below 2 years which will be collected on board and handed over to you after disembarking. 

Children above 2 years old 

Children above the age of 2 are entitled to carry the same baggage allowance as adults as per LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy. 

LOT Polish Airlines Sports Equipment 

The airline also allows passengers to carry sport equipment on board free of charge as per the ticket purchased. However, LOT Polish baggage policy does not apply to bicycles. 

• The airline advises passengers to inform the airline regarding carrying sports equipment beforehand to avail the service before your reach at the airport. 
• Passengers should ensure to inform the airline at least 24 hours before the departure to check the availability as per the equipment. 
• The maximum weight of a sports equipment must not exceed 32 kg. Heavier items are only allowed to be shipped via cargo. 

LOT Polish Airlines Musical Instrument  

As per LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy, passengers travelling with musical instruments must carry it on board as carry-on baggage. The musical instrument must not exceed the dimension 55 x 40 x 23 cm. 

• The total sum of the dimension must not exceed 118cm. 
• In case, if a passenger is travelling with bigger musical instruments like cello or a guitar then the passenger can book an extra adjacent seat. 
• Passengers must inform the airline beforehand to check the availability.
• You can carry larger musical equipment free of charge if it does not exceed the free baggage limit. The total dimension of the musical instrument should be 158cm. 
• If the instrument exceeds the dimension of 158 cm, then passengers will have to pay certain extra charges as per LOT Air baggage allowance depending upon the destinations and how much it weighs.
