Carry-On Baggage Allowance 

  • Air Albania allows one piece of carry-on baggage or say hand baggage, which shouldn’t exceed the limit of 17lbs. 
  • The wheeled or non-wheeled dimensions of the hand bag must not exceed the limit of (23x40x55 cm).
  • Hand baggage means those items that the passenger can take with them into the cabin to place them in the storage compartments above or under the front seat.

Checked Baggage Allowance 

  • Checked baggage refers to items that are handed over to the airline for carriage as cargo, and are not accessible to the passenger during the flight. Such baggage is weighed, labeled, and recorded on the passenger ticket for their identification upon arrival.
  • 1 piece of checked baggage must not weigh more than 32 kg according to IATA & AHM regulation. If the luggage is bigger than 32 kg it should be divided into 2 luggage.

Air Albania Baggage Allowance For Domestic Flights

  • The Air Albania checked baggage allowance for Business Class passengers traveling domestically, are allowed free checked baggage of 66 lbs. 
  • As for Economy Class passengers traveling domestically, the allowed checked baggage is 44 lbs. 
  • The dimensions of the luggage taken in Air Albania aircraft must not exceed 158 cm.

Air Albania Excess Baggage Policy

The Passenger shall pay a charge for the carriage of Baggage in excess of the Free Air Albania Baggage Allowance at the rate and in the manner stipulated by the airline. The Carrier may refuse to carry extra Baggage which exceeds the Free Baggage Allowance and/or has not been paid for.

Excess Value Declaration

  • If, in accordance with Air Albania’s regulations, it offers an excess valuation facility, then the passenger must declare the value of excess checked baggage. If the passenger makes such a declaration, then they will have to pay the applicable charges.
  • The airline will refuse to accept an excess value declaration on checked baggage, when a portion of carriage is to be provided by another airline which does not offer this facility.

Excess Baggage Fee

  • When the limit of free baggage allowance is exceeded, the baggage is considered to be additional baggage with a charge of ALL 468 per Lb for the destinations: Turkey, Italy, Greece, Switzerland.
  • When free baggage allowance is exceeded for passengers flying to destinations: United Kingdom, Germany; the extra baggage fee will be levied as ALL 702 per Lb.

Air Albania Baggage Policy For Infants 

To carry your infant baby on the aircraft, make sure you comply with mere rules for infants under Air Albania baggage policy. 

  • Infant passengers are entitled to a piece of baggage weighing 22 lbs. Additionally, the baby strollers that do not exceed the limit of 115 cm are allowed on all flights.
  • Child passengers have the same amount of baggage allowance as adult passengers.

Air Albania Pet Policy 

  • Animals such as dogs and cats, when properly catered and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other documents required by countries of entry or transit will be accepted for carriage, subject to the Carrier’s Regulations. 
  • In order for a passenger to carry a live animal in the cabin or in the aircraft’s hold, this reservation must have been made at least six hours before the flight is scheduled to take off. If no previous reservation has been made for the live animal, it may only be accepted on the flight pending the approval of the authorized officer at the departure point, and depending on the related flight’s capacity.
  • If accepted as Baggage, the animal, together with its container and food carried, shall not be included in the free baggage allowance of the passenger, but constitute as excess Baggage, for which the passenger shall pay the applicable Air Albania baggage fee.
  • Acceptance for carriage of animals is subject to the condition that the passenger takes full responsibility for it. The airline shall not be liable for injury to or loss, delay, sickness, or death of such animal, in the event that it is refused entry into or passage through any country, state, or territory.

Baggage Policy For Lost and Delayed Luggage

Under the guidelines of Air Albania baggage system, if in any case your baggage is lost, damaged, or delayed, then you are entitled to receive assistance. Here are a few highlights for the same.

Lost Luggage

If no news of the discovery has been received within 21 days from the opening of the PIR, it is necessary to send all the documentation specified below to the Customer Relations and/or Baggage Assistance Office of the airline with which you traveled to the start of the compensation procedure.

Delayed Luggage

If your baggage is found, within 21 days of the actual delivery date, you must send all the documentation indicated below to the Customer Relations and / or Baggage Assistance Office of the airline with which you traveled. ” 

Required Documents For Delayed Luggage

  • Flight booking code in case of online purchase or original receipt in case of paper ticket
  • Original PIR issued at the airport
  • Original baggage identification tag and proof of any payment of excess baggage
  • List of baggage contents in case of lost baggage
  • List of any missing content in the case of found baggage
  • Originals of the receipts and / or tax receipts showing the type of goods purchased (in relation to the waiting time) to replace their personal belongings contained in the baggage.
  • Indication of complete bank details: name of the current account holder, name and address of the bank, IBAN, ABI, CAB, C / C number, SWIFT code in the case of a foreign account
  • If the aforementioned data does not refer to the holder of the case, also specify the residential address, telephone number, fax number (if available), e-mail address (if available).

Damaged Luggage 

According to Air Albania baggage policy, In case of damage to the baggage, within 7 days from the opening date of the PIR, it is necessary to send all the documentation indicated below to the Customer Relations and / or Baggage Assistance Office of the airline with which you traveled for the start of the compensation practice.

  • List of the contents of the baggage that may have been damaged

Compensation For Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Luggage

  • In the event of lost, damaged or delayed delivery of checked baggage, the passenger is entitled to compensation of up to ALL 137532 in the case of countries from the European Union and countries that adhere to the Montreal Convention.
  • Passengers will receive up to ALL 2244 per kg in the case of airlines from countries that adhere to the Warsaw Convention.

Prohibited Items 

According to Air Albania baggage policy, following items are prohibited to be carried in the passenger cabin or otherwise.

  • Firearms and ammunition other than for hunting and sporting purposes are prohibited from carriage as Baggage.
  • Items which are likely to endanger the aircraft, or persons or property on board the aircraft, such as those specified in the International Civil Aviation Organization.
  • Items carriage of which is prohibited by applicable laws, regulations, or orders of any state to be flown from, to, or over.
  • Items which, in the opinion of the Carrier, are unsuitable for carriage by reason of their weight, size, or nature, such as fragile or perishable items.
