After the global pandemic, the airline has made some changes to offer children the safest environment on board whether they are travelling alone or with an adult. 

• Air Europa Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory for children between the age of 5 to 11 on domestic routes. On international routes, unaccompanied minors are required for children between the age of 5 to 14. 
• The unaccompanied minor can travel alone as long as the minor is accompanied by a person of at least 18 years old.  
• The unaccompanied minor service is not mandatory for children aged between 12 to 17 years on domestic flight and between the age of 15-17 on international flights. 
• Your child must have an individual passport with at least six months validity as per Air Europa unaccompanied minor policy. If required, as Air Europa unaccompanied minor, he/she must also have a valid visa to enter the destination country and a re-entry permit to return to his/her home country. 
• Your child must also have had all the required inoculations and medical check-ups, with the relevant paperwork as proof.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy for Children Between the Age 0 to 2 

• Minor of less than or 2 years old must travel in the same seat as the accompanying adult. 
• It is mandatory for parents to fill and submit unaccompanied minor handling forms at the Air Europa counter at the airport. 
• The accompanying parent can travel with a maximum of two children under 2 years old. 
• As per Air Europe Unaccompanied Minor policy, the infant must travel in the same seat as the adult wearing a special safety belt provided by the Air Europa crew on board while the other must travel in the adjacent seat approved child seat. 

Unaccompanied Minor Policy for Children Between 2-11 years old 

• Children between the age of 2-11 must travel with a guardian of age at least 18 years old. Unaccompanied minor services should be requested by the parent or guardian beforehand. 
• Minors can travel on their own seats and may check the same baggage as an adult. 
• There is no limit on the number of children aged between 2-11 travelling on board. 

Unaccompanied Minors travelling in Group 

The airline has a specific Air Europa unaccompanied minor policy for children travelling in groups. The unaccompanied minor policy ensures that every child is well-protected and taken care of throughout their journey on board. However, the airline has regulation which coincides with group bookings in case of minors. 

• Groups of up to 23 children should be accompanied by one adult at least. 
• Groups of 24-35 children should be accompanied by at least 2 adults who can actively stay vigilant. 
• Group of 36 to 47 children should be accompanied by at least 3 adults. 
• Groups of more than 47 children should be divided into batches of 12 children each with one adult to supervise them under Air Europa unaccompanied minor service. 

Unaccompanied Minor Travel Document Requirement 

The minimum age for a child to travel alone on Air Europa is 5 years old. It is mandatory for parents or guardians of the child to request for Unaccompanied minor service for their child. The Airlines suggests Parents and guardians have to keep a few documents handy while requesting for the minor service. 

Domestic Flight (Spain) 

Travel document Required for Minor holding Spanish Nationality 

• Passengers between 14 and 17 years old should have valid National ID and passport. 
• If the minor is under the age of 14 and does not have passport or National ID then the minor may carry a family record book. 
• As per Air Europa unaccompanied Minor policy, the accompanying adult at the departure airport should be able to validate the child’s identity.
• Passengers under 12 years old must have an Unaccompanied Minor Form signed and submitted by the accompanied guardian at the departure airport. 

Travel Documents Required for Minor with European or Schengen Nationality 

• The unaccompanied minor should have a valid passport and signed Unaccompanied Minor form. 
• Minors under the age of 18 are required to show an international travel permission from their legal parents or guardians at the time of check-in at the airport. 

Travel Documents Required for Minor with Third World Country Nationality 

• The unaccompanied minor should have a valid passport and signed Air Europa Unaccompanied Minor Form from the parents. 
• The minor should also have a non-expired residence permit.

How to Book Unaccompanied Minor Service 

• You can contact the airlines to request for unaccompanied minor service for your children while purchasing the ticket. The easiest way to contact the airline is to contact them via chat. 
• While requesting for the services, you will have to provide your contact information for unaccompanied minors. Along with that, as per Air Europa Unaccompanied minor, parents should provide the contact information of the person who will greet the child at the destination airport. 
• Both the people who purchased the ticket and the person who will greet the children should be legally adults. 

Unaccompanied Minor Travel Documents 

• The unaccompanied minor should have valid government ID along with photo, passport and necessary vaccination and entry requirements (flight booking and PNR). 
• Minors of age below then 17 years travelling without their parents are advised to carry passport or photo identification.  
• While minors of age below 12 years travelling alone and carrying complete Unaccompanied Minor Advice Form are not required to carry any further documents. However, as per Air Europa Unaccompanied Minor policy,  guardians dropping them off or greeting them at the destination airport must prove their valid identity.

Unaccompanied Minor Baggage Allowance

• The baggage allowance for unaccompanied minors will depend on the ticket type you have purchased. For long-haul connecting flights or long layovers are not permitted in case of unaccompanied minors. 

Unaccompanied Minor at the Departure Airport 

•  legal guardians to accompany their children to the airport at least 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure to avoid any hassle.
• Valid proof of the identity of the parents are required while check-in for the minor. The parents/guardian must stay at the airport until the flight is airborne as per Air Europa unaccompanied minor guide.  
• The airlines have a check-in desk and ground personnel on standby to assist your child. 
• It is mandatory to fill the unaccompanied handling advice form at the check-in desk. 

Unaccompanied Minor at the Destination Airport 

• Air Europa ground staff will collect your child and properly labelled baggage from the baggage area. 
• The unaccompanied minors will be escorted through the customs until they meet their legal guardian or parent as per Air Europa unaccompanied minor guide. 
• Before handing over the child, the uniformed airline staff will verify their identity.

According to Air Europa unaccompanied minor policy, parents or guardians will have to pay a certain fee depending on the destination and fare class for unaccompanied minors on top of the airfare.
