Etihad Unaccompanied Minor Guidelines 

As per Etihad Airlines Unaccompanied Minor policy, children between 5 -11 can use the unaccompanied minor service without any extra charge. However, they must be booked on a normal adult fare with pre-booked service before arriving at the airport. 

• As per Etihad Airlines Unaccompanied minor, children between the age of 0-4 must be accompanied by an adult travelling on the same flight and in the same flight. 
• For children between the age of 12-17 years, the Etihad unaccompanied minor service is not mandatory. However, parents can request for the unaccompanied minor assistance for the safety and comfort of the children. 
• As per Etihad unaccompanied minor policy, parents should submit the unaccompanied minor Etihad form at the check-in counter along with Child handling form. 
• Unaccompanied minors cannot check-in online and thus they should directly at the check-in counter at the airport. 
• Unaccompanied minors must be booked on direct flights or flights with one stop over only. 
• A parent or guardian should remain at the airport until the flight is airborne. 
• The airlines advise legal guardians or parents to assign one adult to meet the minor at the destination airport. 

Etihad Unaccompanied Minor Restrictions 

• The unaccompanied minor service does not include special treatment or service on board. 
• Unaccompanied minors are not allowed to travel with pets. 
• Unaccompanied minor fees for children between the age of 12-17 will not be refunded according to Etihad Unaccompanied Minor policy.

Etihad Airways Unaccompanied Minor Fee 

There are certain charges applicable on unaccompanied minor service that the passenger should pay. The service of unaccompanied minors are applied depending upon the routes and destinations of the flight and additional services reserved by the parent or legal guardian. The fee covers additional services provided to the child such as escort services and additional security measures. However, the unaccompanied minor fee is waived off if the minor is travelling with an older sibling at least the age of 18.

Guidelines for Unaccompanied Minor 

There are certain Etihad Airlines unaccompanied minor guidelines that parents should follow to ensure a smooth transition of a child from the airport to the flight. 

Unaccompanied Minor at the airport  

• The parent or the legal guardian must accompany the child to the departure airport and through the check-in counter and fill out the unaccompanied minor form with accurate information. 
• Parents or legal guardians must carry their government photo proof to prove their identity and relation with the child. 
• Upon arrival at the airport, the minor will be escorted by uniformed staff of Etihad through the security check-in, customs, baggage submission and through the boarding gate. 
• It is advised by the airline that parents or the legal guardian should remain at the airport before the flight is airborne as mentioned in unaccompanied minor of Etihad. Also, parents should remain at least 15 minutes after the flight is airborne to ensure there is no rerouting. 

Unaccompanied Minor During Take off and Landing 

• Throughout the flight, the safety of the child will be prioritised during the time of security check-in, immigration, and boarding. 
• During the flight, the inflight staff will ensure to keep a close eye and to ensure complete comfort of the child. 
• It is advised by the airline that parents should pack items like contact details, charged devices, books and snacks to eat during the flight. 

Unaccompanied minor at the Destination Airport 

• As per Etihad unaccompanied minor policy, the unaccompanied will be escorted off the flight by uniformed Etihad Airways staff who will also collect the luggage from the baggage section. 
• Before handing over the child at the destination airport, the airline uniformed personnel will verify the identity of the adult picking up the minor through legal documents before handing over the child to the person. 

Unaccompanied Minor Baggage Allowance 

• As per Etihad Unaccompanied Minor policy, a child must be travelling on adult fare that’s why their baggage allowance will depend on the standard baggage policy. 
• According to unaccompanied minor policy, minors are not allowed to carry excess baggage allowance. 

How to Book Unaccompanied Minor on Etihad Airways?

There are several ways to book unaccompanied minors on Etihad Airways. Parents can either opt for calling on the Etihad customer support number or book the service through an online method. 

Call the Etihad Customer Care 

• Contact the Etihad Airways via the official number. 
• Complete the unaccompanied minor form and have it signed by the parent or legal guardian of the minor. The form should be submitted directly at the check-in counter. 
• Provide the contact details of the person who will meet the minor at the destination airport. 

Booking Unaccompanied Minor via website

Passengers can book unaccompanied minor reservations and service via the official Etihad website. 

• Access the Etihad website to book unaccompanied minor service as mentioned in Etihad unaccompanied minor policy. 
• Enter the reservation number, flight number along with last name of the minor travelling to retrieve booking. 
• Submit the unaccompanied minor form and within 24 hours, the airline will confirm the request.
• Print the unaccompanied minor form and add your signature before submitting that at the airport check-in counter.
