Ryanair Carry-On Baggage Policy

  • Only the Priority Boarding passengers can carry a carry-on bag of 40cm X 20cm X 25cm and a cabin suitcase of 55cm X 40cm X 20cm with a maximum weight of 10 kg in the cabin free of charge. 
  • Non-Priority Boarding passengers can only carry a small bag or a backpack of 40cm X 20cm X 25cm that must fit in the compartment. 
  • If the Non-Priority Boarding passengers want to carry a second bag, they can buy a bag of 10 kg at the time of online booking. This bag must be checked in at the baggage drop off counter at the airport before passing through the security. 
  • If you are a Non-Priority Boarding passenger and have not yet added a 10kg bag to your booking, but would like to do so, you can buy it at the baggage drop off counter at the airport by paying an additional fee. 
  • Also, passengers travelling with this airline can carry a Ryanair backpack on board as cabin baggage. Make sure the bag is exactly 40cm tall, 25cm wide and 20cm deep or smaller to ensure that you don’t have to pay extra charges.

Ryanair Checked Baggage Policy

  • Each Ryanair passenger can buy up to 3 checked bags of 20 kg. Also you can add up to 3 kg additional Ryanair excess baggage to the 20kg checked bag. 
  • You can buy up to 3 checked bags of 20 kg at the time of booking or it can be added to a booking 2 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure time. 
  • Checked baggage is charged per person, per one-way flight and the charges depend on the route and the travel dates. 
  • Keep in mind that you can’t carry a backpack as a checked baggage when you fly with Ryanair. 

Ryanair Excess Baggage Policy

If your checked bag weighs more than 10kg or 20 kg, depending on your booking, you can buy excess baggage up to a maximum of 32 kg and this can only be purchased at the airport ticket counter. The excess baggage will be charged 11 EUR per kg. If your checked bag weighs more than 32 kg, then the airline won’t allow you to check-in.
