  • Passengers travelling on these fare types are allowed to carry one personal item and one carry-on baggage in the fare.

Volaris Checked Baggage Allowance 

As per Volaris Baggage policy, the checked baggage allowance varies based on the flight and booking class. Your ticket with Volaris will indicate the number of pieces you can bring along during your trip. The checked baggage allowance varies depending on domestic and international travel. 

Domestic Travel 

  • As per Volaris Airlines baggage policy, Volaris Basic, Volaris Classic and Volaris Plus fares do not include checked baggage for flights within Mexico.

International Travel 

  • Passengers travelling in Volaris Basic and Classic do not include checked baggage for international flights. 
  • However, those travelling in Volaris Plus fare are entitled to check one bag for free on international flights.

Excess Baggage Guidelines with Volaris Airlines

There are certain guidelines when it comes to excess baggage. Passengers with overweight carry-on bags will be considered as checked baggage. Volaris Delayed, Damaged, or Lost Baggage 

In case of delayed, misplaced, damaged baggage, passengers can refer to below guidelines. 

Delayed Baggage 

If a passenger hasn’t received their baggage from the baggage carousel, then the passenger can visit the Volaris Lost Baggage counter immediately and fill in the form of Baggage irregularity Report. After the submission of baggage, as per the Volaris Baggage policy, the airline will strive to deliver the baggage within 24 hours. 

Damaged Baggage 

In case if the passenger notices any damage on their luggage as soon as they arrive, they can issue a baggage irregularity report. However, you must escalate at least 24 hours before the departure. 

Lost Baggage 

If the airline hasn’t located your baggage within 72 hours after your arrival at the destination airport, then the customer can request for a lost baggage claim form at the airport. 

  • If your checked baggage doesn’t arrive with you then the airline will provide you with 250 MXN per day for up to 72 hours. The reimbursement amount is for their toiletries and daily essentials.
  • As per Volaris Airlines baggage policy, the airline does not compensate for items like money, jewelries, artefacts, electronic devices, medication, fragile objects. 

Volaris Baggage Allowance for Infants 

As per Volaris Baggage Policy, the airline allows passengers to carry car seats for infants on both domestic and international routes. 

  • Infants travelling on lap are not entitled for additional baggage allowance.
