• Children between the age of 5 to 14 are not allowed to travel without the mandatory unaccompanied minor policy. 
• If the minor is above the age of 15, then the unaccompanied minor service is not mandatory. However, the parent or legal guardian can still request it for extra convenience for the minor. 
• The parent or guardian of the minor should reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to the flight departure with the child to complete the formalities timely.

Aeromexico Unaccompanied Minor Travel Restriction for US-bound Flights

Aeromexico has certain restrictions for unaccompanied minors travelling from the US. Thus, it is essential for adults and guardians dropping off and picking the child to know the rules. 

• It is advised to reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to scheduled flight to complete formalities like check-in, filling unaccompanied minor form and baggage submission timely.  
• Unaccompanied minors cannot use the online method to check-in for their flights. That’s why they have to directly check-in at the Aeromexico counter at the airport.
• As per Aeromexico unaccompanied minor policy, the guardian or parents must drop and receive the child from the airport and must carry additional documents to prove their identity. 

Aeromexico Unaccompanied Minor Required Document  

To ensure that the minor can fly unaccompanied, parents and guardians are required to present the mentioned documents. Parents must reach the airport at least 3 hours earlier to flight departure, regardless of domestic or international, to complete the unaccompanied minor formalities. 

• Unaccompanied Minor Form (UMNR) 
  Parents or guardians must fill the UMNR form and submit that on the check-in counter along with other necessary documents. 

• Official ID and passport of the Child and Parent 
  It is essential for parents to present not only their child’s passport but also theirs. Also, the child must possess the passport required for travelling both domestically and internationally. 

• Minor Exit Form
  Aeromexico also demands Minor Exit Form which can be procured at no cost by the National Immigration Institute.  This form testifies that the individual accompanying the minor acts like a legal guardian under civil law. However, the accompanying person should be of legal age to  procure this. 

• Notarized Document 
  In case of absence of a minor exit form, individuals can submit a notarized form stating the mode of transportation, destination and departure along with date of travel of the minor. Unaccompanied Minor Baggage Allowance 

Aeromexico offers flexible baggage allowance to unaccompanied minors. The child is allowed to carry the same standard baggage allowance as an adult which includes one personal item like a backpack, or sling bag and carry-on baggage and checked-in baggage. Furthermore, the baggage allowance depends on the fare booked. 

• Carry-on baggage : The weight of the personal bag and carry-on item must not exceed 10 kg (22 Ibs) for Basic fare. While the baggage allowance for Classic, AM Plus and Clase Premier can carry 15 kg (33 Ibs). 
• Checked-in Baggage : According to Aeromexico unaccompanied minor policy, the baggage depends on the fare purchased. For both domestic flights (Mexico) and international flights, the prescribed baggage allowance is 25 per passenger.
