Cathay Pacific has a long-standing reputation for providing premium class services that reflect the cosmopolitan East-meets-West heritage of Hong Kong. Business class is available on all Cathay Pacific flights, but the carrier has different aircraft configurations for regional and long-haul flights. But that doesn’t mean there would be any lack of comfort if you’re traveling to a domestic destination. Being one of the major airlines of Asia, and known for its modern style fleets, the airline makes sure that each guest traveling in Business class reaches their destination in the most opulent way. This cabin class also comes with amenities and premium facilities as stated below.

Business Class Airport Experience 

• All Cathay Pacific Business Class guests have access to airport lounges. The airline is noted for its premium lounges. Airlines’ primary hub in Hong Kong is the flagship lounge location with signature lounges in Shanghai, Bangkok, London, Manila, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Vancouver. 
• Cathay Pacific has a total of four business class lounges in Hong Kong, although only two are open at present: The Wing, Business In Terminal 1 (near gates 1-4) and The Pier, Business in Terminal 1 near gate 65. 
• In these lounges, guests will get access to hall-style dining with a focus on Chinese comfort food, a tea house where fine tea specialists help loungers select the ideal brew, a noodle bar, and coffee cart. 
• For North America, Cathay Pacific operates its own lounges in San Francisco and Vancouver. In U.S. locations : Chicago, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles, passengers have access to oneworld Business Class lounges. A third party lounge is also available at Toronto Pearson International Airport..
• Business Class guests also get free access to the supreme lounges operated by Cathay’s airline partners worldwide.
• Each lounge is designed to provide utmost convenience and is a perfect place where passengers can enjoy prior to their boarding.

Baggage Allowance 

Cabin Baggage 

You are allowed to take one piece of carry-on luggage of 22 lbs and one additional personal item, which may include small handbags, laptop bags, small backpacks, camera bags or briefcases. You can also carry other necessary items such as a small camera or a walking stick in the cabin for free. 

Checked Baggage 

Your checked baggage allowance will depend upon the destination you’re flying to and you can check it at the official website in the “manage booking” section. However, you are allowed two free of cost checked baggage that must weigh up to 70 lbs in weight and 158 cm in dimensions. 

Additional Baggage 

Business Class flight ticket holders are also entitled to additional pieces of baggage. Each of these bags can weigh up to 70 pounds and must fit the dimensions of 158 cm.  Any baggage over 158cm (up to maximum of 203cm ) in total dimension will be subject to an oversize charge.

Baggage Allowance For Infants and Children 

As per Cathay Pacific baggage policy, infants (under 2 years of age), are entitled to 1 piece of standard bag, not weighing more than 50 lbs. Children aged 2 and above, will have the same baggage allowance as that of adults. 

Flight Cancellation 

Similar to all other cabin classes, Business Class guests can also cancel the flight for free, provided they do so within 24 hours of booking. Prior to that a cancellation fee will be applied. Cathay Pacific cancellation fee always remains USD 150, irrespective of the type of the ticket. Since, Business Class tickets are refundable, after the deduction of  fee, the remaining fare balance will be refunded.

Flight Change

As per Cathay Pacific flight change policy, you won’t have to pay a change fee if your ticket is changed before 31st December 2022 and you must travel before 31st December 2023. The policy remains the same for all cabin classes. 

Onboarding

• With Cathay Pacific Business Class, you have an option to priority check-in. The airline has dedicated counters for this cabin class. While Cathay Pacific doesn’t offer a chauffeur service for business class passengers, you’ll have access to your own check-in counter, expediting the entire process.
• Business class guests are also provided priority boarding and an advantage to get seated before Economy Class passengers. 
• As a Business Class passenger, you will also have access to dedicated security lanes made specially for Business and First Class. This way your screening and security checking process will be much faster as compared to Economy class individuals. 

In-Flight Experience 

To ensure your journey is enhanced and convenient, Cathay Pacific offers several amenities and a top-notch in-flight experience. From flat lie beds and in-seat screens to amenity kits and opulent dining, there are so many facilities to make the flying period impeccable. 

Cabin & Seat

• With two business class seats in the center and one each by the window, Cathay’s new curved design makes you feel like there’s no one near you at all. It will grant you a level of privacy than what is possible in a side-by-side seat configuration.
• Your head will point towards the aisle cradled by a tall, tough screen that creates a topless cocoon. The newly designed reverse herringbone seats configuration works surprisingly well.
• The seat pan is 21 inches wide, and it unfolds to a length of 82 inches in its lie-flat configuration.
• The seat also contains AC and USB jacks so you can charge your gadgets, a lamp that will make reading an easy task, and a storage cubby that will allow you easy access to your belongings.    
• The extra-wide cabins of our A350 aircraft feature intelligent lighting and reduced noise, allowing you to sleep more soundly, while better levels of cabin pressure and humidity help reduce jet lag.
• Each Cathay Pacific Business Class passenger seat has an additional side storage, a dedicated space for a water bottle under the armrest, a netted pocket inside the cabinet door for precious items, and the under-ottoman for shoes and bags. 

Here’s how seating is managed in different fleets of Cathay Pacific: 

• A330: The A330 is configured for both long haul and regional business class services. The long haul configuration has lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration; regional business class has recliner seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. There are multiple configurations with varying numbers of business class seats. 
• A350: The A350 is configured for long haul business class services, with lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. 
• 777-300: The 777-300 is configured for both long haul and regional business class services. The long haul configuration has lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration; regional business class has recliner seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. 

Amenities & Facilities 

• The business class flight section comes with a number of amenities to ensure you get utmost comfort in-flight. First, you’ll receive a pair of noise-canceling headphones, which will help maximize your enjoyment of on-board entertainment offerings.
• You’ll also receive a kit filled with Jurlique skincare products, toiletries to help you freshen up, fresh socks, and a sleep mask.
• Business Class passengers in the long haul flights will be able to bed down with sustainably-sourced cotton linens, mattress pad, duvet, and pillows and receive an amenity kit with Bamford’s pure, natural skin care products to nourish, soothe and protect your skin. 
• Products include a hand lotion, lip balm and a hydrating facial mist, along with the usual creature comforts like a dental kit, ear plugs, a face-mask and socks. Moreover, slippers and eye masks are also available for passenger comfort.

Dining Experience 

• The Cathay Pacific meal service is an event unto itself, with white linen tablecloths and wine and cocktails paired to match.
• With refreshing breakfasts, sophisticated dinners and midnight meals, we’ll have a dish ready for you whenever you care to dine.
• The contemporary Cathay Pacific Business Class menu highlights bold international flavors, classic Hong Kong favorites and light, healthy options. You can even complement your meal with complimentary fine wines, champagnes, premium spirits and Betsy beer – our pale ale handcrafted for 35,000 feet.
• Multiple courses are served at meals, with starters, cheese plates, and desserts being offered in addition to the main course. Outside of meal service times, a number of snacks are available upon request, including beef burgers, a tea service with scones / sandwiches / tarts, noodle soup, and Häagen-Dazs ice cream.
• The focus is usually on Hong Kong and Western cuisine, along with route-specific cuisines for each country Cathay Pacific serves (e.g. a variety of Japanese dishes is typically available on flights to Japan). Breakfasts include congee and dim sum—a favorite in Hong Kong and Cantonese cuisine.

In-flight Entertainment

• The Cathay Pacific Business Class seats come with a 15 inch widescreen, serving as a display for the airline’s state-of-the-art Studio CX entertainment system. 
• With a massive selection of current movies, full seasons of popular TV shows, and music tracks from popular artists in a variety of genres, that are refreshed on a monthly basis, you’ll always find something that will help kill time on your long-haul flight.  
• Entertainment has all the usual suspects when you book a Business Class ticket with Cathay Pacific. 
• For the first time, you’ll be able to use the entertainment system to inform the cabin crew not to disturb you, and when to be woken up for meals or landing (on long-haul flights).
• Additionally some aircrafts seats such as in A350, features an 18.5 inch personal television and to accompany it, a second 4.3 inch video handset. It will allow you to peruse other entertainment content, check up on flight progress, or multi-task as you please, without interrupting your viewing on the main screen.

In-flight Wifi

Cathay Pacific offers Wi-Fi services on all aircrafts, so you can stay connected to the internet even at the highest altitude. Access the wireless network from your smart devices to browse the internet, send messages, or catch up on news around the globe.

Deboarding 

With Cathay Pacific Business Class, you also get an advantage to deboard the plane first, once you reach the destination. You will be safely escorted to the ground and will have a right to access priority checked baggage claim upon arrival.
