Cathay Pacific Cancellation Policy Guidelines 

The airline has created a customer friendly cancellation policy to allow passengers to have flexibility while travelling. The basic intent of the Cancellation Policy Cathay Pacific is to make sure that customers can change or cancel their bookings without much hassle. However, the cancellation policy also has some restrictions that passengers should adhere to. 

• Passengers can cancel their tickets within 24 hours of booking the reservation given that the scheduled departure date is 7 days after. Pertaining to this case, no cancellation fee will be applicable on the ticket.
• As per the refund policy, refund of the cancelled flight depends on reservation, ticket price, destination and fare type. 
• In case of non-refundable tickets, passengers can seek future travel credit points of the same value of the ticket. The travel vouchers are only valid till one year from the date of issuance.
• According to Cathay Pacific Airlines cancellation policy, there are some reservations that are not eligible for refund and thus, in case of revocation, no amount will be refunded.
• In case of cancelling partial tickets, the airlines will assess the value of the ticket remaining before issuing a refund as per Cathay Pacific refund policy.  
• Flight tickets that remain used for two years are eligible for refund under certain circumstances. 

Cathay Pacific 24 Hour Cancellation Policy 

Cathay Pacific offers its customers the option to cancel their flights within 24 hours of booking it to avoid any surcharges or cancellation fee. However, this policy is only applicable if the booking was being made 7 days prior to the actual departure. However, Cathay Pacific 24 hour cancellation policy has certain guidelines that customers need to adhere to. 

• This policy applies to flights to/from Canada as well as the United States. 
• This policy is not applicable to the connecting flight with Cathay Pacific.

Cathay Pacific Cancelled Flight Policy 

In situations like extremely bad weather, security concerns, technical issues and even clearance issues from ATC, the airline is forced to cancel flights to ensure the safety of the passengers.  However, in these situations, passengers can claim compensation depending upon the distance of flight between the origin and destination. 

Compensation for Cancelled Flights 

If the passenger is notified about the supposed delay or cancellation at least 14 days prior to the scheduled departure of the flight then as per Cathay Pacific flight cancellation policy, the airline is not liable to pay monetary compensation against it. However, if the airline fails to inform the passengers about the cancellation, then passengers are entitled to receive a full refund. Along with that, passengers can request for alternate flight and same amenities in the second flight without any additional cost. 

• Passengers can receive compensation of €600 from the airlines in case of a cancelled flight. 
• Passengers will have to pay 30% of cancellation charges to Cathay Pacific to process compensation. 
• If the airline offers a substitute flight after the cancellation then the compensation amount will decrease by up to 50%. 

Cathay Pacific No-Show Policy 

If a passenger misses its flight, then its status will be highlighted as no-show and the value of the ticket may forfeit as per Cathay Pacific Cancellation policy. 

• The Cathay Pacific no show policy applies to every fare type and cabin class. 
• If the passenger wants to retain the travel fund, they need to inform the airline beforehand. 
• In case of no-show, the airline will only refund the taxes and airport taxes as refund.
• However, the no-show fee also depends on the fare type and class of service opted by the customers.

Cathay Pacific Flight Delay and Compensation Policy 

In case of delay, passengers are entitled to receive compensation duly under the Cathay Pacific refund policy. 

• If the delayed time is more than four hours then according to Cathay Pacific cancellation policy the airlines will offer refreshments, meals , two phone calls and email facility to customers. 
• In case, if the flight is delayed for more than five hours then the airline is obligated to return the complete value of the ticket to the customer. 
• If the flight is delayed for more than a day due to bad weather or other circumstances then the airlines will provide hotel accommodations and transportation to the affected passengers. 

Monetary Compensation for Delay Flights

• Passengers are eligible to receive compensation of $275 per passenger for all flights under 1,500km.
• Passengers are eligible to receive compensation of $450 for all flights between 1,500km – 3,500km as per Cathay Airlines cancellation policy. 
• Passengers are eligible to receive compensation of $675 for all flights above 3,500km 

Cathay Pacific Cancellation Fee 

Cathay Pacific tries to maintain a low fare range on its flight and thus the airline applies cancellation fee.  However, passengers who want to cancel their reservation can do so at a minimal fee. The cancellation fee of Cathay Pacific depends on various factors like time of revocation, fare type, class of service. 

• The cancellation fee for Cathay Pacific tickets can be $150 incase of partially used tickets. 
• Tickets that have expired will cost $200. 
• In case a passenger misses its flight, then a no-show fee will be applicable which is $50. 
• As per Cathay Pacific Airlines cancellation policy, if a passenger has booked the flight from a third-party website then the cancellation policy and fees will depend on third party platforms.

• Visit the official website of the airlines. 
• Select the “Cathay Pacific Manage Booking” Section. 
• Login with your credentials and access your account. 
• Enter your booking details to manage your itinerary. 
• Now, add your PNR and last name to find your booking details. 
• Search for your booking details and cancel your reservation.

Cathay Pacific Flight Cancellation Through Mobile App

Alternatively, passengers can also use the mobile app of Cathay Pacific to cancel the flight. The mobile app offers multiple advantages including smooth user interface and more feasibility to navigate through the options. 

• Download the official Cathay Pacific app from Apple Store or Google Play store. 
• Login to your account with your credentials. 
• Now,click on manage booking to proceed with cancellation. 
• Add details like PNR, flight number to proceed with the cancellation as per Cathay Pacific flight cancellation policy. 
• Lastly, follow the prompt to cancel your flight and click on cancel. 
• You will receive a confirmation email regarding cancellation. 

Cathay Pacific Flight Cancellation at the Airport

Another way to cancel a Cathay Pacific airline flight is to cancel the booking at the airport. Share your flight details with the Cathay Pacific airport staff to cancel your booking. 

• Provide necessary details: flight reservation number, last name and flight number to the agent behind the Cathay Pacific ticketing counter to retrieve the booking.
