About Emirates Airlines

Emirates is a major airline of the UAE and offers the utmost convenience to all its passengers. Keeping that in mind, it has created an Emirates Airlines baggage policy which each passenger must adhere to. But endless scrolling and confusing terminologies sound hefty. Check out the guide below which covers all crucial points to remember for luggage and that too in a simple manner.

Emirates Airlines is the largest airline of the United Arab Emirates and is headquartered in Garhoud, Dubai. In addition, it is one of the major flag carrier airlines of Dubai and operates as a subsidiary of the Emirates group. It is the world’s fourth largest airline and has a primary hub at the Dubai International Airport. As of now, the airline serves 150 cities in 80 countries worldwide.

Baggage Allowance Policy

Before packing your luggage, it’s best that you learn about the allowed limit and pack accordingly. Below mentioned key points of Emirates Airlines baggage rule will help you learn about the allowed items in the cabin as well as in the hold.

  • The cabin baggage allowance depends upon the cabin class you’re flying in, Economy, Premium Economy, Business or First class.
  • Your free checked baggage allowance is based on either the total amount of weight or on how many pieces of luggage you have.
  • If in any case your baggage is damaged or delayed and the airline is responsible, it will compensate you.
  • All the baggage that exceeds the checked baggage limit, will be categorized as overweight / oversize baggage and will be subject to a fee.
  • You can carry household dogs and cats in the passenger cabin, provided that it stays in the pet carrier throughout and under your responsibility.
  • If you’re carrying your infant or older child, then make sure you comply with the airline’s guidelines.

Carry-on Baggage Allowance

  • To ensure that travel is comfortable and safe for all customers, it is important that baggage carried in the cabin comply with a set of rules and allowances, as decided under Emirates Airlines baggage policy.
  • All cabin baggage must fit either under the seat in front of you or in one of the overhead lockers. Baggage may not be placed behind your legs, in the aisles or in front of emergency exits.
