How Do I Check-in With Iberia Airlines?

Does Iberia Do Web Check-in?

Iberia Airlines check in online service permits passengers to check-in for their flights from the comfort of their homes and receive boarding passes online on their mobile devices. Usually it opens 24 hours before the scheduled departure time and closes a few hours before the flight. 

During the online check-in process, you can select your seats and will have the option to receive your boarding pass digitally, which can be printed or downloaded to a mobile device. Read below to know the step by step procedure : 

• Visit the official website of Iberia Airlines.
• Search the “Online Check-in” section on the homepage.
• Enter the required details like ‘Reservation or Ticket number’ along with the ‘Surname’ of the passenger. 
• Follow the instructions to complete the Iberia check in process, select your desired seat, add additional luggage (if necessary) and confirm the passenger details. 
• After completing the online check-in process, you will receive a digital boarding pass that can be saved on your mobile device, you can print it as well.

You can check-in online for flights with Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Nostrum. But if you have purchased a fare that doesn’t include seat selection, you can check-in online 24-hours prior to your scheduled departure.

Online check in begins 24-hours prior to the departure if you are traveling to / from Cuba, El Salvador, United States, Guatemala, United Kingdom, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and China. You can receive your boarding pass 60 minutes before your boarding time for all flights and 90 minutes for San Jose and Lagos, and 180 minutes for Caracas.

Iberia Airlines Airport Check-In

Iberia Airlines offers Airport Check-In services for those passengers who prefer personal assistance or have special requirements. The representatives of Iberia will assist the passengers to complete the check-in process and receive their boarding passes.

 It is recommended to reach the airport at least 2-3 hours before the scheduled departure for international flights and 1-2 hours before for the domestic flights. Keep in mind that check in Iberia times and procedures for its flights may vary depending on the airport, flight destination and other factors.

• Find the Iberia Airlines check in counters at the airport. These counters are located in the departure hall, and are easily identifiable by the airline’s logo and signage. 
• Make sure you have all the necessary travel documents like your passport, visa and flight booking details (booking reference & e-ticket). 
• Provide your travel documents and flight booking details to the agents. They will ask for your ID and will verify your flight bookings. 
• If you have a checked bag, the agent will weigh and label your bags, making sure they are sent to the correct destination.
• Once the Iberia check in process is completed, the agent will provide your boarding passes. This pass is essential to pass through the security. 

Iberia Airlines Kiosk Check-In

Iberia Airlines offers Kiosk Check-In services at the airport for those passengers who prefer a self service check-in option and want to avoid long queues at the airport counters. It permits passengers to complete the check-in process and get their boarding passes using self-service machines located in the airport terminal.

However, keep in mind that Kiosk check-in procedures and services may vary from one airport to another, so always make sure to check the specific guidelines and availability of the Kiosks at the departing airport. 

Here is a general guide to using the Iberia check in airport kiosk:

• After reaching the airport, search the Iberia Airlines self-service kiosks. In general, kiosks are located near the airline’s check-in counters or in the common areas of the terminal. 
• The kiosk will ask you to select your preferred language for the check-in process. 
• Enter  booking information, booking reference or e-ticket number and the name of the passenger. 
• If you have various flights within one booking, the Kiosk will show the available flights for the check-in process. Select the flight you want to check-in for. 
• Depending on the airline’s policies and availability, the kiosk might provide you the option of choosing a seat. 
• After the Iberia check in process is completed, the kiosk will print your boarding pass. Don’t forget to carry the boarding pass. 
• Some Kiosks might offer the option of purchasing additional services like additional baggage allowance.

Why Can’t I Check-in Online In Iberia?

• The Iberia online check-in service opens 24-hours prior to departure for customers who have made the booking through third-party agents.
• Additionally, passengers traveling on codeshare flights are not eligible for online check-in. But Iberia redirects its codeshare flight passengers to the website if the operator is American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, LATAM or Vueling.
• You will also not be able to check-in online, if your itinerary includes an Iberia code in connection with an Iberia flight operated by Vueling.
• Under special cases, when you are traveling with a pet, or the reservation is for an unaccompanied minor, or you were unable to prove your residential status, you may be able to check-in online, but you need to collect the boarding pass at the airport.
