Finnair baggage Policy ensures that passengers strictly follow the outlined limit of acceptable measurements to avoid paying additional charges.

About Finnair Baggage Policy 

• Finnair has a variety of classes consisting of Economy, Business classes. Within these classes, we have sub-categories named Light, Classic and Flex.
• The baggage policy may differ depending on the region. Flights within Finland and Scandinavia have the same rules as flights within the US. 
• Finnair Baggage policy allows every passenger to carry one carry-on baggage, checked baggage and one personal item like purse, briefcase, or handbag. 
• All the items should be within the maximum weight prescribed in the baggage policy. 

Finnair Carry-on Baggage Allowance

Finnair offers a generous baggage allowance to all its customers. According to its Finnair baggage policy, passengers are allowed to carry baggage as per their cabin class and fare. Travellers in economy class can bring one piece of luggage and a one-personal item together. However, the weight of the luggage should not exceed 8 kilograms/17 pounds as per Finnair cabin baggage policy. 

Business Class Passengers are allowed to carry two carry-on items and one personal item. According to Finnair baggage policy, the items should not weigh more than 10 kilograms/22 pounds combined.

Finnair Checked Baggage Allowance 

Finnair offers generous checked-in baggage to its customers. However, the weight and size of each baggage may vary as per route and destination of the flight. It is important to know that the Finnair baggage allowance depends on cabin class, fare, and its destinations. 

Individual check-in baggage should not exceed a maximum linear dimension of 62 inches or 152 centimetre. In economy class, every checked baggage must not weigh more than 23 kgs/50 pounds as per Finnair baggage policy economy. Whereas, the business class passengers have the privilege to bring baggage weighing 32 kgs/70 pounds per item.

Baggage Allowance for Infants

• According to Finnair baggage policy, the same baggage allowance for adults will be applicable if your kid is more than 2 years old.
• The total weight of your luggage depends on the cabin class you are travelling in.
• If the infant is not more than 2 year old, a hand baggage up to 12 kg will be permitted on board and the dimension should not exceed 55cm×35cm×25cm
• In the hold, a baggage weighing up to 10 kg, a foldable stroller, a backpack-style baby carrier, or car seat.
• The light fare bookings with no baggage option are not allowed to bring the aforementioned items. However, the passenger must incur a fee.
• The Finnair baggage allowance allows you to carry a stroller only if the stroller dimension does not exceed more than 15cm×30cm×100cm.
• If you bring other foldable strollers, that replaces the infant’s hand luggage allowance and its dimensions should not exceed more than 55cm×35cm×25cm. 

Finnair Baggage Policy for Sport Equipments 

• The airlines tend to include most sports items in their baggage policy including golf sets or other items as standard baggage. 
• Passengers can also carry ski gears weighing not more than 220 centimetres; 79 inches are counted as one piece of baggage. 
• Passengers who want to transfer their sports firearms like shotguns or archery bows, need to inform airlines beforehand and have to pack their weapons separately from their luggage. 
• However, Finnair Baggage policy does not allow Electric bicycles on board because of their electric battery but dismantled pedal bicycles are allowed as long as it is packed in a proper transporting case. 

Finnair Baggage Policy for Musical Instrument

• The airline permits musical instruments such as flutes, trumpets, violins and carry-on baggage. 
• However, the airline urges customers to pack their instruments properly to have them checked-in. 
• If passengers carry an oversized instrument like a harp or double bass then customers should seek permission from the airlines before carrying it. 
• If the airline rejects the request then you can opt for an experienced shipper. 

Finnair Baggage Policy For Additional Allowance 

• Finnair Baggage Allowance entails that economy class passengers have a baggage limit of 50 lbs, however, if the baggage exceeds, then customers have to pay an extra fee of $75. 
• Flights within Finland or Scandinavia may charge extra €55. As for international flights, the extra baggage fee would be  €70. 
• In case of  special baggage, if the standard weight of 50 lbs and 220 cm is exceeded,  then customers will have to pay extra baggage charges, depending on the instrument or equipment. 
• Whereas, business class passengers with baggage limitation of 70 lbs do not prompt for extra chargers. 

Finnair Lost and Found Baggage Policy 

• As per Finnair baggage policy, in case you have lost a bag while travelling with Finnair, then you can complain on an online website of the airlines easily. 
• You must raise a complaint online within 48 hours of arrival or at the airport counter before leaving the airport.
• If your baggage has not been found after 72 hours of your request, you need to fill out the inventory and request forms as per the guidelines of Finnair lost baggage policy.
• If your luggage is missing for more than 21 days, the airline will compensate you up to EUR 1,607 as per Finnair delayed baggage compensation policy.
• You must keep all the documents and the damaged luggage until the issue is resolved.
• If you have noticed that your bag is damaged then as per Finnair baggage policy, you can submit a damaged query at the arrival helpdesk. 

Finnair Baggage Fee 

As per Finnair extra baggage policy, in case of extra baggage, the extra baggage fee remains non-refundable except when the entire ticket is refunded due to flight disruptions such as cancellations. 

Carry-on baggage 

You can purchase extra baggage allowance at the time of booking or later on manage the booking tab on the official website.
