Finnair Flight Change Policy 

With constant life hurdles and situations, there are many cases where passengers have to make changes in their reservation. Hence, it has created a Finnair change flight policy for all those who have to make modifications. Check out the main highlights:

• The policy would be covered for all fare types, passenger groups, and a class, regardless of the fare rules.
• Flight change would only be applicable on all flights booked through the official website and through customer service.
• Passengers can request free changes to their reservation and are not required to pay Finnair change fee, provided that they do so within 24 hours of booking. Passengers shall be liable to pay processing fees associated with the booking.
• Finnair change for return flight requests can only be completed after the completion of the one-way segment. 
• Finnair flight changes in booking would not be applicable after the scheduled departure and would be marked as a no-show.
• As per Finnair flight change policy, the change in the ticket rules doesn’t apply to any other travel essentials in the flight ticket such as hotel and/or car rental booking.
• If  the price of the new ticket is lower than the original ticket, no refund would be processed.
• If the passenger has purchased the tickets with Finnair mileage points or reward points, please contact Finnair customer service at to change the booking

Finnair Flight Change Fee

Finnair Allowed Flight Changes

To change the booking for Finnair flights, passengers can request alterations on various travel essentials such as the name of the passenger, travel date, flight time, seat change, and much more. Let’s discuss each of the booking requests in detail.

• Seat Change Request
  Passengers are allowed to change the seat of their flight booking after canceling the check-in request and leaving the ticket status ‘open’ before making the changes to your seat arrangement. All this can be done via the ‘Manage Booking’ section.
• Finnair Change Flight Date
  Travelers can change the flight date up to 11 months in advance from the date of your booking. Passengers would be responsible for the Finnair change fee and any applicable fare difference.
• Return Flight Date Change
  As per Finnair flight change policy, passengers can change the return flight date only if the passenger has used the outbound flight segment. Passengers would be responsible for the Finnair change fee and any applicable fare difference. You can change the return flight date with Finnair, only by calling the Finnair reservation phone number.
• Name Change Request
  Passengers are not allowed to change the ownership of the ticket. However, the name correction of up to three characters, the first name, middle name, or last name is allowed. The combination of three characters shall not be misunderstood as three characters each for first, middle, and last name. All name correction requests shall be completed over the phone. Passengers need to submit the government-issued photo ID to match the name exactly as it should appear on the flight ticket.

Steps to Change Finnair Flight 

Follow these easy steps to make modifications in your flight reservation. With this method, you can easily make changes from the comfort of your home. 

• Browse finnair.com, and click on the ‘Manage booking’ option.
• Enter the booking confirmation that comprises 6 characters along with the last name of the passenger. Click on the ‘Search button to access the booking
• Select the flight itinerary on which the changes need to be requested. 
• Click on the ‘Change’ button, and enter the new travel dates, flight time, or destination, or a combination. 
• All the flight changes are subject to Finnair change fee alongside any applicable fare difference.
• Pay the required Finnair change booking cost at the checkout page with the debit/credit card to complete the flight changes.
• Once the transaction is completed, passengers will receive the Finnair change booking confirmation on their registered email along with a new e-ticket.

Finnair Schedule Change Policy

In the event of denied boarding, significant flight delays, or any flight cancellation which is attributed directly to the airline, Finnair will assist the travelers in the following manner:

Denied Boarding

When the number of passengers exceeds the seating capacity of a particular carrier, Finnair will compensate passengers who have been denied boarding against their will in form of travel credit of the entire booking value, along with a one-time compensation amounting to – 

• EUR 315 for flights of 1500 km or less
• EUR 509 for flights with the distance between point A and point B is between 1500 and 3500 km
• EUR 703 for all the flights whose distance between point A and Point B is more than 3500 km

As per Finnair schedule change policy, the airline will also offer – 

• Meals and refreshments as well as communication facilities as well as hotel accommodation if the overnight stay becomes necessary.
• The choice between either alternative transport to the final destination at the earliest or later date as per the passenger’s convenience, subject to availability of dates.
• Reimbursement in the form of travel credit of the entire booking value if the passenger decided to not take an alternate flight.

Finnair Flight Upgrade

The passengers are allowed to make Finnair flight change upgrades to Business class, and make their excursion even more interesting.

• You can easily upgrade your Economy class flight to Business class upon fixed payment.
• There is a specific time to purchase the flight upgrade. 
• As of June 2021, if you purchase in advance, you get the full benefits of the Business Class upgrade as listed above.
• However, if you purchase at the airport, you get the Business Class experience on board, while priority services at the airport and lounge access are not included. The rules of your original ticket type will define the baggage allowance.
